Hawaii Travel

Making plans to travel to The Big Island can be a great deal of fun when you start researching the places you want to go and what you want to see.  You may want to pick up a Hawaii travel guide, some places provide a free Hawaii travel guide while others will sell a book showcasing what is available to do and see on the Big Island.  At this site you will find many things to make your travel to Hawaii an exciting opportunity to see many of the things that you only have heard about (and some you may not have heard about.)

Hawaii travel can consist of just going to the beach or it can include trips to see the volcano, Kilauea, which has been erupting for more than 20 years!  The tourists that travel Hawaii love to go see this wonder of nature.

The island has uncommon beauty spawned by the magma-plumbing system which feeds and shapes this island.  There is a wide array of produce grown here and some of the best coffee grown anywhere is grown right here on the Big Island.  Do you love orchids?  This island produces more than anyplace else in the world.

You may not want to have a trunk load of Hawaii travel brochures to haul home but you can certainly look things up and print off that you want on our site.

Be sure to visit both of the distinct population centers on the island.  Hilo, on the wet, tropical east side and Kailua-Kona on the sunny, dry southwest side.  Most of the tourist attractions are on the Kailua-Kona area.  Hilo is the seat of the government and the University of Hawaii is located there.  The University has a beautiful botanical garden you may want to visit.  The area has rushing waterfalls, a rain forest zoo and an array of low-key visitor activities for you to enjoy.

The Big Island is almost as big as the state of Connecticut is the only island where you can take a drive and go al the way around the island (about 300 miles) if you want.  You will see cattle ranches and coffee estates on the Kona side, along the scenic Hamakua coat on the northeast side and enjoy the diversity of the terrain all the way around the island.  Take your time, enjoy the sites and visit with some of the people, you will be glad you did!
